Our North Community Garden is a u-pick style garden that is open to the public for visiting and harvesting dawn to dusk 365 days a year. We are rebuilding the garden this year to be more accessible and reflect our communal style (the garden previously had 45 raised beds for individual gardeners).
-Volunteers will help water, plant, weed, and are welcome to harvest veggies and herbs to take home. Beyond garden maintenance we will sometimes have painting, building, or other creative projects.
-Volunteers are welcome to drop in when and for as long as they are able.
-Please dress for outdoor work and bring a refillable water bottle. We will have gloves and tools available, but you are welcome to bring your own.
-Children are very welcome but must be supervised by their adults (the garden is fenced in and play/exploration is encouraged).
-No gardening experience necessary.
-The last Wednesday of every month from 6:00-8:00pm, will be a community meal in the garden with garden tours (volunteers are encouraged to come as participants and help with tours and setup/cleanup if they are able).
-Street parking is available on both Seward and 40th streets. Carpooling encouraged.
-Please take the time to fill out our volunteer intake form if this is your first time volunteering with us
