Board members are pivotal in guiding the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) and Easterseals NE (ESN). Our organization is seeking volunteers with experience in finance or fundraising to join the VNA/ESN Board of Directors to advance our missions:
VNA delivers expert, compassionate care to support community health and well-being.
ESN provides exceptional services to help ensure all Nebraskans with disabilities have an equal opportunity to live, learn, work, and play.

The estimated time commitment is one (~1 hour) meeting per month and 5-10 hours throughout the year.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Determine VNA’s mission, vision, and values.
2. Select the chief executive.
3. Provide proper financial oversight.
4. Ensure adequate resources.
5. Assist with fundraising efforts.
6. Personally support VNA and/or ESN financially.
7. Ensure legal and ethical integrity and maintain accountability.
8. Ensure effective organizational planning.
9. Attend and engage at meetings.
10. Recruit and orient new board members and assess board performance.
11. Enhance VNA and ESN’s public standing.
12. Determine, monitor, and strengthen VNA and ESN’s programs and services. T
13. Support the chief executive and assess his or her performance.
