Create grocery boxes for food pantry

Calendar Happens On Mar 4, 2021
Time 10am - 1pm
Expired

Description

COVID-19 has placed a strain on our community and as a result, our food pantry is seeing a large increase (50%) in the number of people visiting.  We need the help of volunteers to keep up with this high demand and ensure that our neighbors have enough food and supplies. Volunteers will help support these families by creating boxes containing grocery items.

This is an indoor opportunity but you will not be exposed to any clients and you will be social distancing.

Prior to participation, please make sure that you are not displaying any COVID-19 symptoms. If possible, please check your temperature to ensure that you are fever-free.

Masks: Volunteers are asked to bring a mask to wear during the project.

Dress Code: Please dress casual and comfortable - jeans and sneakers are fine. Close-toed shoes are required

Parking: There is parking available at Together. But if parking lot is busy, please park in the lot located to the north of the Habitat ReStore (1701 N 24th St). The Habitat ReStore is located slightly south of Together Inc., on the east side of 24th Street. Volunteers will need to cross the street in order to get to Together Inc.

Please arrive 15 minutes early. There will also be a brief orientation led by staff.
