Join Goodwill Omaha for our annual Back-to-School Community Resource Fair and help hundreds of local families start the school year with confidence!
This free community event will provide the first 500 children with backpacks, school supplies, and lunch while connecting families with more than 25 community organizations offering valuable resources, services, and family-friendly activities. Your time will help create a welcoming, organized, and memorable experience for children as they prepare for a successful school year.
Volunteer Opportunities
Event Set-Up (4 volunteers | 8:00–10:00 a.m.)
Help prepare the event space by setting up tables, tents, signage, supplies, and activity areas before families arrive.
Lunch Distribution (3 volunteers | 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.)
Assist with organizing and distributing lunches to children and families, helping keep lines moving and ensuring everyone has a positive experience.
Photo Station Assistant (1 volunteer | 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.)
Support our photographer by organizing families for photos, collecting participant email addresses for photo sharing, and assisting guests inside the Goodwill retail store where photos will be taken.
Whether you're volunteering on your own or with friends, family, or coworkers, you'll play an important role in helping local students begin the school year equipped, encouraged, and ready to learn. Thank you for helping make this special community event possible!
