Description

United Way of the Midlands partners with the U.S. Postal Service’s Stamp Out Hunger food drive, the largest one-day food drive in the nation, to fight food insecurity in the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro.

Locally, Stamp Out Hunger provides non-perishable food donations the following nonprofits: Heartland Family Service, Heartland Hope Mission, Salvation Army, Siena Francis House, The Stephen Center, and St. Vincent de Paul.

The National Association of Letter Carriers has requested volunteer support on May 9.

Tasks: Help postal workers unload and sort food donations into bins and trucks.

Parking: Free, public parking

Check-in: The front office will be closed, find the dock, and when greeted, please relay that you are there to help sort donations for the Stamp Out Hunger campaign.

USPS trucks will be coming in at around 4:00pm. Please wait for their arrival if they are not there immediately when you get there.

Each station has a separate registration page. If you are interested in bringing a group to fill all available volunteer spots, please feel free to register directly or contact volunteer@uwmidlands.org.
