As a community sponsor team, you’ll work alongside CIRA staff to help a refugee family thrive in their new home. This opportunity is more than just providing support- it's about building relationships and offering a true sense of community. Your team will make a profound impact by helping a family feel welcomed, supported, and empowered.
Potential areas of support include:
- Setting up their home with essential furnishings and supplies
- Accompanying the family to health appointments
- Assisting with education and ESL support
- Helping with cultural adjustment and community connections
- Offering guidance in job searches and employment opportunities
- Attending meetings with the family's case manager
