Heart Ministry Center

Who We Are

Mission: To provide food, healthcare, and a way forward to people severely affected by poverty in the Omaha area.

Founded over forty years ago in response to increased requests from members of the North Omaha community seeking food, Heart Ministry Center aims to assist people in need of life’s most basic necessities.

What We Do

Located at the corner of 24th and Binney Streets, the Heart Ministry Center is Nebraska’s largest food pantry. While the Choice Food Distribution program distributed 3.1 million pounds of food in 2025 to help meet immediate needs, additional resources are available to promote long-term stability.

The Monen Healthcare Clinic provides free medical, dental, vision, mental health, and OT/PT services. A 9-month Fresh Start job training program offers personalized, structured hard and soft skills training to prepare graduates for higher-paying jobs.  The Willing Partner programs provide case management and community resources on-site. The Fresh Start Laundromat employs Fresh Start graduates and offers weekly free dry time and assistance to families unable to afford laundry services.

The Heart Ministry Center focuses on providing services that reflect community, compassion, accountability, and excellence, with dignity for all.
