Who We Are
Girl Scouting provides opportunities for K-12 girls to accomplish what they never thought possible: academic success, power to respond to bullying, leadership, financial literacy, healthy living, or STEM careers. Girls discover skills, connect with others, and take action to improve their community. The process is girl-led, as they learn together in hands-on activities. Trained adult volunteers provide the caring and supportive environment, as girls attain sense of self, critical thinking skills, healthy relationships, problem solving skills, and learn to advocate for self and others. GSGI collaborates with schools and youth organizations, and UWM support allows more girls to realize their personal potential, both now and in the future.
What We Do
Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.
Through the Girl Scout Leadership Experience—a collection of engaging, challenging, and fun activities like earning badges, going on awesome trips, selling cookies, exploring science, getting outdoors, and doing community service projects.
At Girl Scouts, she’ll get to lead her own adventure (it’s her world!) and team up with other girls in an all-girl environment to choose the exciting, hands-on activities that interest her most. Along the way, she’ll gain important skills in four areas that form the foundation of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience:
- Science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM)
- Outdoors
- Life Skills
- Entrepreneurship
