The Urban League of Nebraska has been Empowering Communities and Changing Lives in Omaha since 1927. We empower youth and adults to complete their education and achieve employment in the Omaha metropolitan area. We change hearts and minds with advocacy across the state. We are part of a national movement focused on education and youth empowerment, economic development and civic engagement.
The Urban League currently operates and serves residents within the tri-county area, with a primary target in the northeast region of the city. We are one of 93 affiliates in 34 states of the National Urban League movement.
The Urban League of Nebraska is an empowering voice in the community advocating for economic self-reliance, parity, power, civil rights and equal opportunity for all.
We envision a Nebraska where the social economic gaps are closed for African Americans, emerging ethnic communities and disadvantaged families in the achievement of social equality and economic independence and growth.
