Mission: To connect individuals and groups to improve self-sufficiency, regional food security and economic resilience of urban and rural communities through advocacy and action.

No More Empty Pots (NMEP) is a grassroots nonprofit organization based in Omaha, Nebraska, dedicated to improving self-sufficiency, regional food security, and economic resilience in urban and rural communities through advocacy and action.

What We Do

No More Empty Pots’ vision is to support communities in becoming self-sufficient and food secure through collaboration and adhering to our core values: education, stewardship, and sustainability.

No More Empty Pots looks at the impact of each potential project and program on our mission, vision and values before accepting whether it becomes a part of the work in which we engage or support. Each project must have an element of sustainability and long-term positive impact for the communities in which we serve.

Characteristics of Successful Initiatives:

  • Strengthen relationships with urban and rural consumers and producers
  • Develop closed loop food systems processes
  • Support sustainable local urban and regional food systems
