Mission: To provide help, hope, and opportunity for those experiencing hunger and homelessness in the Council Bluffs and Omaha metro.
The story of New Visions Homeless Services began in 1995 when a local pastor and his family decided to deliver peanut butter sandwiches to the hungry on the street of Council Bluffs, IA. Their commitment to feeding the hungry grew from a van to a bus and eventually to a brick and mortar “soup kitchen” called Mohm’s Place. In 2008, the vision grew to include an Emergency Shelter for men and Permanent Supportive apartments, the first facility of its kind in Southwest Iowa. In 2012, New Visions added a similar facility in Omaha with the mission of serving US Veterans experiencing homelessness.
