Who We Are

Mission: To prepare entrepreneurs for success through training, education, and access to capital.

Since 2008, Midlands Latino Community Development Corporation (MLCDC) has supported low-income women through childcare and business development programs, offering training, coaching, financial education, and technical assistance. Key outcomes include creating 70 childcare centers, 156 businesses, 275 jobs, and providing training to 3,400 clients. Since 2009, their micro-lending program has issued 86 loans (up to $25,000) with no defaults, supporting diverse small businesses.

MLCDC’s Women Go Forward program fosters the empowerment of women who are often relegated to the home. Single Latina mothers make up 90 percent of the clients at MLCDC.

What We Do

MLCDC provides Latinos with opportunities to generate economic and cultural growth through a sustainable future. MLCDC serves as a catalyst for a thriving, diverse and inclusive community. Our educational and coaching services include childcare development programs, micro-business programs, micro-lending programs and computer training.

The “Latina Women Go Forward” program empowers women with entrepreneurial training, leadership development, ESL classes, and financial education, fostering community engagement and sustainable enterprises like tailoring, cleaning services, and food processing.
