Who We Are

Letters Against Isolation is a volunteer-run nonprofit founded in 2020 by teenage sisters Shreya and Saffron, who began writing letters to seniors during the COVID-19 lockdowns. What started as a small act of kindness quickly became a global movement.

Since then, our community has mailed more than 1 million letters, delivering joy and connection to senior citizens across Nebraska & Iowa, in all 50 states, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia. We write in dozens of languages, from Albanian to Vietnamese.

What We Do

About Letters Against Isolation

We organize volunteers of all ages to handwrite friendly, conversational letters to seniors in aged care homes and community programs such as nursing homes, assisted living facilities, Meals on Wheels and senior centers..
