Who We Are

Mission: To empower youth and adults to take control of their financial futures.

Financial Beginnings is a national nonprofit founded to empower individuals with financial education, helping them achieve goals like home ownership, higher education, and secure retirement. We serve primarily underserved populations through free programs in over 200 schools and 100 community organizations annually. Supported by donors and partners, we provide all curriculum materials and trained volunteers to ensure effective, accessible financial learning.

What We Do

Financial Beginnings empowers individuals to take control of their financial futures by offering programs tailored to different age groups.

  • For children in grades K-6, we introduce basic personal finance through Financial Footings.
  • Early teens in grades 6-8 learn to relate finances to the broader economy with Financial Framings.
  • High school students in grades 9-12 explore key financial concepts through Financial Foundations, while Pathways guides both high school and postsecondary learners on education, career options, and debt management.
  • For adults, SAFE supports postsecondary learners, and Forward helps financially vulnerable adults achieve greater financial stability.
