Who We Are

Mission: To connect champions and empower Black businesses in the Midwest.

Founded in 2020, the Midlands African Chamber is a membership-based organization that exists to enhance the robust African and African American business climate in Nebraska and across the Midwest. All benefits, programs, and events of the Chamber are designed to give businesses the opportunity to make or save money, acquire knowledge and skills to help grow a network of successful entrepreneurs.

The Chamber puts members first working to provide them with numerous benefits, including exclusive networking, marketing, and cost-saving opportunities. The Chamber strives to create a positive economic impact in the Midwest by providing business opportunities, leadership, education, advocacy, and economic development.

What We Do

The Midlands African Chamber (MAC) empowers BIPOC entrepreneurs, small businesses, and underserved communities through targeted programs and initiatives.

  • MAC Xcelerator (MAC-X): A business accelerator supporting BIPOC-led startups in Nebraska and the Midlands, offering seed funding and access to the Pitch Black competition.

  • Pitch Black: A Midwest entrepreneurship conference featuring a pitch competition, business expo, and resources for BIPOC, immigrant, and refugee entrepreneurs.

  • Suit Up Program: Provides professional attire, headshots, and job readiness training for at-risk teens and young adults in Black, Brown, immigrant, and refugee communities.

  • Rising CEOs: A leadership and entrepreneurship program for minority youth (ages 14-19), fostering business, technology, and leadership skills.

  • Members Emergency Fund: Offers financial support to MAC members facing unexpected business challenges.

  • Scholarship Fund: Awards $1,000 scholarships to Black, immigrant, and refugee students pursuing careers in Accounting, Finance, Law, and STEM.

  • Contractors Connect: A networking initiative linking minority-owned contractors with industry resources and larger contractors.

  • Trade Mission: Facilitates business expansion into West African markets through networking, pre-arranged meetings, and cultural engagement.

Through these programs, MAC drives economic growth, fosters leadership, and strengthens BIPOC businesses and communities.
