Who We Are

Easterseals Nebraska provides exceptional services to help ensure all people with disabilities have an equal opportunity to live, learn, work and play through top-quality, family-focused and innovative services tailored to meet the specific needs of each community it serves.

Services provided by Easterseals Nebraska include job training and employment; camp and recreation for children, young adults, senior citizens, and military; financial services including low-interest rate and longer-term loans; and agriculture rehabilitation services to Nebraska farmers and ranchers.

In 2012, Easterseals Nebraska merged operations with Visiting Nurse Association to optimize economies, efficiencies and synergies between both organizations.

What We Do

AgrAbility

AgrAbility provides comprehensive case management and rehabilitation technology services for farm and ranch family members affected by mental and physical disabilities. ESN’s rehabilitation staff has a detailed understanding of the labor, equipment, and management requirements of Nebraska livestock and grain production, in addition to the unique disability benefits issues related to self-employment and rural independent living. Nebraska AgrAbility is a collaborative effort of Nebraska Extension and Easterseals Nebraska.

Alternative Financing

Qualified Nebraskans with disabilities can apply for low-interest loans to purchase assistive technology. Any item that helps a person maintain or increase independence or overcome a barrier to employment can be considered. All income levels may apply. Credit history is reviewed, but financial counseling is available.

Camp & Respite

Camp programs are for individuals of any ability age 5+. Activities promoting personal development and independence include swimming, horseback riding, archery, ropes course plus more! Various sessions are offered throughout the year with overnight, day, week-long, and family events to choose from. Campers are supported with a 1:1 – 1:4 ratio of supervision and a nurse on-site at all hours, providing a healthy break for family or caregivers. 

Workforce Development & Self-Employment Services

Social Security disability beneficiaries receiving SSI/SSDI can receive assistance making an informed choice about obtaining, maintaining or advancing in employment. This includes benefits planning and systems navigation support. Career planning and employment services available for qualified individuals.
