Who We Are

The Black Police Officers Association of Omaha was incorporated June 17, 2013. The organization was created to inspire equality in the enforcement of justice in all communities, while serving as a compass of integrity. A main focus of our organization is to bridge the gap between both the black community and law enforcement community. Our strategy is to carry this out by holding community service events, better educating the citizens of Omaha on police procedures, and helping prepare our BPOA members for promotional testing to become leaders in this Police Department.

What We Do

1. Unite Black Officers of the Omaha Police Department for mutual welfare, protection and advancement.

2. Enhance the quality of life in the Black community and foster a stronger relationship with law enforcement.

3. Establish effective means and strategies for dealing with discrimination in the field of criminal justice and the community.

4. Ensure that BPOA members and Black candidates are treated fair and equal for hiring, job assignments and promotions.

5. Promote and preserve a high degree of professionalism in law enforcement.
