Put your strength to good use - join Boys Town in mulching during this year's Day of Caring. Boys Town is a campus that houses and educates the children and families that we serve. The entire campus, including all buildings, landscaping and other features are for their use. Our mission is saving children, healing families. We are serving America’s most at-risk children.
Mulching is a very labor intense activity. Volunteers will be:
- Using pitchforks to load wheelbarrows,
- Moving full wheelbarrows on uneven terrain,
- Spreading mulch with hard rakes,
- Cleaning up
Tools will be provided including Jersey Gloves. Volunteers are welcomed to bring their leather or heavier duty gloves.
What to wear + bring:
- Closed-toe shoes are required
- Safety glasses or sunglasses are recommended to keep dust from the mulch out of one's eyes
- Bring plenty of water or Gatorade!
