Who We Are

The YMCA is a national, nonprofit organization whose mission is to strengthen the community through facilities and programs that develop a healthy spirit, mind and body. The YMCA of Greater Omaha is an association of ten branch YMCAs located in eastern Nebraska and western Iowa. The Y offers facilities, programs and activities in three focus areas – Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility. Support from the United Way helps make it possible for the YMCA to serve some of the most vulnerable segments of our community – refugees and recent immigrants, chronic disease sufferers, senior citizens, children with special needs and low-income individuals and families – for free or at an affordable cost.
