Who We Are

We are a relatively new nonprofit that was created to help alleviate the suffering of those who feel alone and forgotten, by spending one-on-one time with folks and engaging in activities they enjoy. I was a volunteer at a care facility and realized how lonely many are, even though they don’t show it. I became very close to three women in their 90’s. As I got to know them, I picked up on their loneliness. Once I started spending time with them, it was clear to me. Each of them were very different. With one woman, we got into making puzzles and I have so many that are framed and I am hoping to sell some to be able to put the money into our nonprofit. I read to another woman, took care of her plants and talked about current events and faith. The third woman was the oldest and she just liked to talk, mostly. We were so much alike, it was as if we were cut from the same cloth. Two hours could go by with the blink of an eye. I lost all three of them within a five month period. I loved them dearly and it gave me so much joy to see them really enjoying themselves. Everyone needs to be loved and cared about all through their lives. No one should suffer from loneliness, especially in their final years. No one should be alone, just waiting to die. If people took time to care about those in need of a friend, I think they may find the Joy that comes from making a difference in another person’s life.

What We Do

Our mission is to spend quality time, on a regular basis, with the Elderly and Seniors who suffer from chronic loneliness. Because of the Pandemic, we are unable to visit, so we have been sending cards to 179 people at residential care communities. Some teenagers got together and made 40 lap blankets, which were given to those mist in need. They also recorded a holiday show and provided a copy to each facility for the residents to enjoy!
