This holiday, 240 Boys Town youth are unable to return home for Christmas. Make the holiday a little brighter by serving dinner

Volunteers will decorate tables with decor provided by Boys Town, then assist Boys Town Visitors' Center kitchen staff providing table service, bringing the meals to youth dining in the hall and with clean up after dinner.Volunteers should be comfortable walking and carrying plates.Please wear comfortable shoes. Holiday sweaters encouraged.

• Beauty and self-care products – press on/artificials, nail polish, nail art pens, makeup sets and brushes, bath/shower bombs, hair clips, silk bonnets, stick hair wax/gels, styling/twisting balms/butters, hair masques and leave in conditioners, detangler sprays, edge brushes, stiff bristle combs, curl creams, cleansing shampoos, eyelashes

• Body products – Lotions, body spray/cologne, body wash, washcloths, loofahs, facial cleansers and moisturizers (for girls and boys)

• Bluetooth speakers and headphones/earbuds (wireless preferred)

• Selfie lights and desktop tripods

Announcing the NEW Boys Town National Research Hospital Volunteer Program!! 


We are excited to announce the new Boys Town National Research Hospital Volunteer Program! With the goal of empowering our community and its members through service, this program will create meaningful opportunities for volunteers to contribute their time, skills and passion to make a positive impact on our patients and families.

 

The Volunteer Program offers a variety of options to fit the skills of both teens and adults. Some of the tasks may include:

 

Greeting and escorting patients Serving as an internal courier or runner for clinic staff Engaging patients in waiting room with interactive activities Making rounds with the activity cart (coloring, books, crafts) or coffee cart Providing clerical support Reading to patients Taking patients on wagon rides Cleaning toys

 

Volunteer Requirements

 

Must be at least 16 years of age and able to transport themselves or acquire transportation to Boys Town National Research Hospital at 139th and Pacific Street Volunteer a minimum of two hours each week, with a total of eight hours a month If needed, exceptions can be made for special circumstances (vacations, illness, etc.) Volunteers between the ages of 16 and 18 are asked to make an initial commitment of 6 months and volunteers over 19 are asked to make an initial commitment of 1 year
