As a community sponsor team, you’ll work alongside CIRA staff to help a refugee family thrive in their new home. This opportunity is more than just providing support- it's about building relationships and offering a true sense of community. Your team will make a profound impact by helping a family feel welcomed, supported, and empowered. 

Potential areas of support include:

Setting up their home with essential furnishings and suppliesAccompanying the family to health appointmentsAssisting with education and ESL supportHelping with cultural adjustment and community connectionsOffering guidance in job searches and employment opportunitiesAttending meetings with the family's case manager                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             

-Minimum 6-month commitment 

-Must be 19 years or older
