NOTE: This listing is for the WESTWOOD PLAZA location ONLY

Purpose: To assist management team in day to day activities in running retail thrift store, providing customers with needed merchandise, in support of the SSVP mission.

Essential Duties and Roles:

Organize and distribute merchandise for sale on the retail floor for display and pricing.

Respond to customers' needs at the receiving dock, assisting with lifting donated or purchased items (up to 30 pounds). Assist drivers with unloading large and heavy items.

Light dusting and sweeping. Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the store.

West Center Store - 12301 West Center Road, Westwood Plaza (Monday-Saturday 10am-8pm, Sunday 12 to 5pm)

Downtown Store - 2101 Leavenworth St. (Monday-Saturday 9am-6pm)

Northwest Store - 5505 No. 90th, (Monday-Friday 10am to 6pm, Saturday 10-4pm)

Papillion - 807 Tara Plaza, (Monday-Saturday 9am-6pm)

Shifts: Vary by stores; preference for ongoing/sustained volunteer commitments, although one-time volunteers are also welcome.

Making lunches: Teams of 6-12 volunteers will make up to 300 sack lunches per day, with up to 150 lunches handed out to homeless neighbors and 150 lunches delivered to nearby, low-income, "senior-living" apartments.

Duties include making and bagging meat sandwiches, snacks, vegetables, etc. Volunteers will clean up utensils, tables and floors.

Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 11:30 am.

Commitment to one shift a week is preferred, but not required. 

Many jobs can be accomplished by sitting, although some standing and lifting may be involved.

Compliance with health guidelines and respectful workplace policies, required.

Distributing lunches: One or two individuals to greet and hand out bagged lunches and drinks for up to 150 homeless neighbors from designated "yellow" door.
