Description

Join United Way of the Midlands in an unique volunteer opportunity – let your voice be heard! We are looking for volunteers to participate in our Community Investment Review Team (CIRT) process. CIRT participants are an integral part of UWM’s Community Care Fund investments. As a CIRT volunteer, you will read, review, and score local program applications submitted for funding. After thoughtful dialogue and analysis, new volunteers work alongside experienced returning volunteers and UWM staff to distribute grant funds amongst the programs.

CIRT Volunteer Time Commitment:

  • CIRT Volunteers typically serve approximately 20 hours total during investment cycle years.
  • Applications are reviewed in February. Meetings to determine funding and discuss the process are held March - May. There will be ongoing engagement opportunities throughout the year.
  • Two meetings during the work week per investment cycle are required to review applications and determine funding decisions. These meetings may take up to 3.5-hours each. There will be a virtual attendance option for these meetings.

UWM strives to amplify community voice in all we do. Come and be a part of this critical process, helping to strengthen your community through impactful services.
