Volunteer Opportunities From: United Way of the Midlands

BLOOM is seeking passionate, community-minded individuals to join our Volunteer Board of Directors. If you care about youth empowerment, family support, and building inclusive, healing-centered communities, we invite you to serve with us.

Board Members Help With:

Guiding organizational vision and strategy

Supporting programs for youth and families

Fundraising, partnerships, and community outreach

Sharing skills, lived experience, and leadership

Who We’re Looking For:

Community leaders, educators, parents, creatives, and advocates

Individuals with experience in fundraising, education, nonprofit work, finance, or community organizing

Those committed to equity, belonging, and collective care

(Mon. to Fri.; 9:30 AM). Pick up groceries at ISC and drop off groceries to 4-6 older adults’ homes. This usually takes approximately 90 minutes. Volunteers use their own vehicles, and ISC provides no-contact delivery at the doorstep to keep volunteers, staff, and older adults safe. You must have a current driver’s license and car insurance.

(Mon. to Fri; mornings or afternoons). If you have an hour or two to give each week, we need consistent, long-term volunteers to serve our eager-to-learn older adults! We need instructors for 1 hour each weekday between the hours of 10:20 AM to 11:20 AM or 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM. Whether you have formal experience as a teacher or have a passion/hobby to share, we’d love to hear from you! Some topics may include: gardening, discussion of current events, crafts, technology (using a smart phone), and more.

Assist participants during instructor-led classes or activities like crafts, sewing, gardening, bingo, etc.

Classes vary by week and month, Mon. to Fri.; 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM.
