Volunteer Opportunities From: United Way of the Midlands

Details of activity/task: Volunteers will write thank you cards to individuals and/or businesses that have donated, sponsored, or volunteered for Outlook Enrichment's annual gala. If volunteers do these virtually, cards can be picked up from Outlook.

Items we will provide: Cards, a list of individuals,  context for the cards, and stamped envelopes.

Number of individuals needed: 10

The time interval allows for volunteers to come and go throughout the duration of the volunteer opportunity.

Volunteers will have multiple roles including:

- Packing the professional attires,
- Steaming the professional attires,
- Transporting to the event's venue, and
- Setting the attire up for distribution at the event's venue.

Help us bring hope to a Karenni family of 6 by participating in our one-day home makeover!  We will spend the day cleaning, assembling furniture, and organizing their house to make it more comfortable for the family as the father goes through cancer treatment.  Read more about the family's story here: https://rdomaha.org/current-restoring-dignity-project/.  

2 hour shifts are available all day for cleaners, builders, organizers, decorators and even yard work!

Volunteers will put up and then decorate several large Christmas trees on the exhibition floors. Volunteers will also help put up other decorations. Decorations may take place on any weekday between November 10-20th. Please "sign-up" to express interest and arrange a time to volunteer with Boys Town.

with Thanksgiving just around the corner, we're reaching out to our community to help deliver meals to families and individuals in need. If you’re looking for a way to give back this season, we would love to have your support!

Here’s how you can help: Volunteer to deliver a Thanksgiving meal to our senior community population who may not be able to get one themselves.

When: Tuesday November 25th, 2025

Time: 10A.M.-1P.M.

Where: Meals will be available for pickup at the Intercultural Senior Center 5545 Center St. Omaha, NE 68106.

Join us as we celebrate 10 years of keeping families together through our Integrated Family Care program! Castle Monday is a special evening at the historic Joslyn Castle on December 1, where guests will hear stories from families and mentors, enjoy hors d’oeuvres, and learn how to support this important work.

We’re looking for friendly volunteers to help make the night run smoothly — greeting and checking in guests, answering questions, assisting with event activities (like the silent auction and wine pull), and sharing in the joy of this community celebration. Come be part of an inspiring evening that helps families find hope, stability, and home.

Cleaning the Dowd Chapel in preparation of the Christmas season. This might include sweeping floors, dusting, and polishing surfaces. Cleaning may take place on any day in November up until December 10th. Please “sign-up” to express interest and arrange a time to volunteer with Boys Town.

Come help our guests celebrate the holiday season! Join us in spreading holiday cheer to individuals experiencing homelessness at our Emergency Shelter.

Volunteers will help guests choose a Christmas gift and serve holiday treats.

Siena Francis House serves approximately 375 individuals per meal, providing three meals a day, every day of the year.

We need your help unloading pallets of canned goods and restocking our pantry so we can continue serving our guests warm, healthy meals. Volunteers should come prepared to organize and put away pantry items and help keep our pantry space clean!

Help to put up and take down several tables. Enjoy the celebration with special food, music, and dancing. Some light clean-up after the event. 

Help to hand out treats to Boys Town Children. Treat hand out may take place on any Sunday in December. Please “sign-up” to express interest and arrange a time to volunteer with Boys Town.

Did you know Santa Monica House has multiple donation areas across our locations? We're looking for volunteers to help sort, organize, and move clothing from seasonal storage to donation rooms.

Work alongside our on-site volunteer coordinators and make a meaningful impact with every folded shirt and sorted bin.

Suncrest Hospice is looking for Holiday volunteers to join the Suncrest Team as we provide excellent care and support to our Hospice patients and their families in their home or facility.  The philosophy of hospice care is to provide comfort and the highest quality of life that one can achieve at the end of life. Through an interdisciplinary team: nurse, home health aide, social worker, Chaplin, music therapist, massage therapists and volunteers, we help the patient and family walk through their journey. Whether you are needing community service hours or wanting to gain some experience in the medical field or share your musical talent, we have an amazing Volunteer program to educate about Hospice volunteering. We need compassionate volunteers to assist us in our facilities while family members are out of town celebrating the holidays. No one wants to alone on the holidays and you can help with your time!
