Join us as we celebrate 10 years of keeping families together through our Integrated Family Care program! Castle Monday is a special evening at the historic Joslyn Castle on December 1, where guests will hear stories from families and mentors, enjoy hors d’oeuvres, and learn how to support this important work.

We’re looking for friendly volunteers to help make the night run smoothly — greeting and checking in guests, answering questions, assisting with event activities (like the silent auction and wine pull), and sharing in the joy of this community celebration. Come be part of an inspiring evening that helps families find hope, stability, and home.

Apex Community Service collects new and gently used clothes and household goods to share, free of charge, with families who are transitioning to their own homes after experiencing homelessness.

Our Closet needs volunteers to sort, organize and keep up our store.

We love to have community groups and will accommodate to fit your schedule when possible.

We are seeking applicants for Board Members. This position is a one year term with the option to renew two times. 

Apex Community Services is committed to providing support and resources to at-risk children and families in need. Through advocacy, education, and community engagement, we strive to create a safe and nurturing environment for children and families to thrive and succeed. 

Board Member Job Description

Orientation and training is provided to make sure directors are comfortable and knowledgeable in their role; previous board experience is an asset but not required. 

Qualifications - A team player with an interest in serving families in our community, with the willingness to:

Commit time for regular Board meetings, committee meetings and planning sessions

Attend and volunteer at events, as required

Engage in critical thought and be committed to a vibrant future for the organization

Prepare well for meetings, reviewing and commenting on minutes and reports

Listen well and be thoughtful in considering issues

Actively participate in the board’s annual evaluation and planning efforts

Understand the fiscal implications of decisions

Responsibilities: 

Provide strategic leadership

Participate in fundraising efforts 

Be knowledgeable about the organization’s mission, programs and performance

Be an ambassador for the organization and promote its work in the community

Ensure the organization’s financial viability and sustainability

Develop policy frameworks

Employ and evaluate the performance of the Executive Director  

Responsibilities of Apex Community Services: 

Provide Orientation to new Board Member. 

Offer Board Member opportunities to discuss with the Executive Director and the Board President the organization’s programs, goals, activities, and status. 

Keep Board Member informed about issues in the community and the human service field. 

Staff and Board Member will work in good faith towards achievement of our goals.
